My team is the key to our great practice. I invest heavily in their training and they perform their best work every single day.

One of the other reasons to come here is that the staff is going to make you feel really comfortable and treat you like family. We take a lot of time in selecting our team members and we only get the best, the people with the best attitudes and the most passion for what they do and share the same vision that we do is to have a patient centric office and create a place where we live life smiling. If you come here, I think you will definitely feel you are part of the family.

They share my vision for helping people and giving back to the community. I have hand-selected the best of the best to be on my team, and they each have a true passion for what they do. They are caring and exceptional individuals. They take time to make sure that the patients are treated like family and that all their dental health goals are exceeded.

Christa, Communication Specialist/Patient Experience

Hi, my name is Christa, I am the communication specialist/patient experience expert here at Panama City Smiles. My job is to make sure that each and every patient has a once in a lifetime dental experience. I began my journey in the dental field in 2012, and feel like I truly found my calling. I started with Dr. Patel in February 2015 and can honestly say that he is one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever met; he also has an amazing sense of humor which softens the sting of dreading a dentist visit. I work with the most amazing staff; everyone works together as a team so seamlessly. My favorite part about my job is seeing that look in a patient’s eye, when you know you have truly made an impact in their life. A small town girl I live in Chipley, which is located about an hour north of Panama City, with my husband John and our daughter Veronica. We love spending most of our spare time outdoors, whether its hunting, fishing or adding a new furry friend to our collection of farm animals, we enjoy it all.

My name is Christa and I’m the front desk. Technically I’m the new patient specialist. I make sure I greet all the new patients when they first come in and make sure their experience is the best new patient experience that they have ever had in a dentist’s office. With the new patient process, before they come in the office, we of course have them on our schedule and I get their information so I can send them a new patient packet that includes our new patient paperwork, a little gift from us welcoming them to our office so they can bring it in with them even before they even come. It also includes some brochures that we have that we offer in the office that some patients aren’t even aware of when they are making their appointment like the braces, the clear correct and the whitening. When they get here, they come to the front desk and I immediately greet them and offer them a beverage whether it’s coffee or water. They get their new patient gift and they get a tour of the office. The assistant or the hygienist will take over from there and will introduce themselves, ask them a series of questions so we can get right down to exactly what the patient needs and values most here in the office. Dr. Patel is fantastic. He has a love for what he does like no other doctor I’ve ever worked for. He has a compassion for it. Whenever I first started here I was just blown away by all the different things that they do here compared to the other dentist’s offices I was in. The new patient gift, I had never heard of that before. You know you are giving the patient something even before they see you, before you even do anything, to make them feel more at home. Because let’s face it, patients don’t want to come to the dentist anyway. We are not on the top of the priority list most of the time so being here and that feeling that they get, we’ve had patients tell us time and time again that when they walked in the door, it felt like home to them and I’ve never walked in an office that I’ve felt that way so for us to be able to give them that feeling is wonderful. I would recommend Dr. Patel and Panama City Smiles because when you walk in the doors for the first time, you feel like you are where you need to be. Dr. Patel is wonderful at making you feel calm and that everything is going to be okay.

Christine, Registered Dental Hygienist

Hello, my name is Christine. I am a Registered Dental Hygienist. I was recently certified to administer local anesthesia. In 2013 I graduated from hygiene school in Farmington, Connecticut. I relocated to
Panama City with my family in 2014. I am pleased to be working with such a talented group of caring dental professionals at Panama City Smiles. My favorite part of my job is improving the overall oral health of my patients. In my spare time I enjoy the outdoors with my family and friends.

My name is Christine Stone and I’m a Registered Dental Hygienist here at Panama City Smiles. On a daily basis we see a wide variety of different cases that come through. A lot of patients have a lot of dental anxiety that we have to deal with and I feel like we know how to treat our patients here and how to reduce that anxiety and to meet their overall oral needs at the same time. Some of the methods that we use to treat anxiety, we do have headphones for our patients, we have some background noise that we can use, we can do a little relaxation with pillows and blankets, a comfort menu that we use here in the office to kind of help with that. I’ve worked with several other dentists but I’ve found working at Panama City Smiles just to be a very fun and team oriented atmosphere. We really get along well and Dr. Patel is extremely good to work for. Dr. Patel just has a wonderful personality and that makes a world of difference working alongside somebody like that. It makes coming to work every day an enjoyable place and if he’s happy, we’re happy and our patients are happy.

Heather, Registered Dental Assistant

Hey There! My name is Heather, I’m a registered dental assistant at Panama City Smiles. I joined Dr. Patels team in January 2015. I graduated from Coastal Carolina College in 2005 and truly love the dental field, my favorite part is to see the look on my patients face when we’ve changed their smile. I live in Panama City Beach with my little boy Dominic, he makes my world go round. We enjoy spending most of our spare time on the beach.

My name is Heather and I’m a registered dental assistant. I’ve been an assistant since 2005. I see the new patients when they come through. We do a treatment plan on them, we take x-rays, we find out what their concerns and fears are and we also do their dental work. I am the first person to see them, I take their impressions, I get them ready for the doctor and they are usually numb by the time the doctor comes in. We have a comfort menu. We have blankets, pillows, headphones, we can also use a prescription to help them relax but we try to use that as a last resort. So whatever it takes. I have the ocean playing in my room, I can dim the lights, whatever it takes. The reason I believe Panama City Smiles is better than the other clinics around here is because our level of care when a patient comes in, we are more apt to get them out of pain that same day, treat them that same day. I have yet to see that happen in other dental clinics in town.

Jeniece, Certified Dental Assistant

Jeniece has always wanted to work in the dental field for as long as she can remember. To actually accomplish a life goal that she always dreamed about is very rewarding for her. Jeniece graduated from Kaplan College in Indiana in December 2011. She feels blessed to do what she loves every day. She became part of the team at Panama City Smiles in October 2014 as a Certified Dental Assistant. Her job is working alongside Dr. Patel to provide excellent care in the dental treatment of our patients. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her husband, Tony, and her two amazing children: her daughter, Trinity, and son, Justyce.

I’m a dental assistant here at Panama City Smiles. I love my patients. I’m a big talker and I love people. You know you learn new techniques and new products that come out and I get to see all that sort of thing so that is awesome. Just as far as being a different office, he just pushes for the best. You know we strive to treat our patients 100% all the time so it’s just really patient oriented, that’s the difference. We also give a new patient tour here. I’ve never done that, ever. So they will come in and we will call them back and show them all around the office, tell them what we have here to offer them, tell them Dr. Patel’s credentials, just go over all the stuff you kind of want to know but might be scared to ask. Panama City Smiles is the place to come. We are a patient centered office and we look forward to taking care of all your needs.

Carrie, Dental Hygienist

Carrie graduated from Pensacola State College in 2001 and has been a dental hygienist for more than 13 years. She has been with Panama City Smiles for more than three years and enjoys working with Dr. Patel and the rest of the staff. She loves helping patients and educating them about their oral health care. In her spare time, Carrie enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr. Patel is just really fun to work with and he is excellent with his dental treatment he really keeps current with the latest technology and he really invests in his staff and team to continue to grow and for us to learn more. The rest of the staff, everyone is really friendly. Everybody just really pulls together, we all help each other out so it really feels like a team effort being here. Here we really get to know our patients and we really listen. We make them feel comfortable and we just really try to go above and beyond to make them comfortable and happy with all of the treatment we do for them.

Sonya, Scheduling Coordinator & Insurance Specialist

Dentistry has been Sonya’s passion since she started working in the field in 2000. She started working with Dr. Patel in 2011 and is the Scheduling Coordinator and Insurance Specialist here at Panama City Smiles. She enjoys working with Dr. Patel because of his giving spirit and passion for what he does best. Her favorite part of her job is building relationships with her wonderful patients. Sonya is an Alabama girl but has been living in this area for more than 25 years. She has four children, and the newest love of her life is her grandchild, Kayden. Her spare time is spent watching Kayden in ballet class and on the soccer field. Sonya wants you to feel very welcome at Panama City Smiles, and she looks forward to meeting you.

My name is Sonya Libby and I’m the insurance specialist/treatment coordinator here at Panama City Smiles and my patient interaction is all day. I’m usually the one who checks the patient out and will greet them when they come in too. We are having our first patient appreciation day this year actually but we do the Dentistry From the Heart, this will be our third annual year doing that. It’s free dental work for the community and we do that once a year. We are also allowed to give patients $100 a month, each employee is given $100 per month to give to a patient for their work. Panama City Smiles and Dr. Patel giving back to the community is very rewarding for me, not to mention all of us, it’s just a great feeling to give back to someone, anything, especially dental work because at the end of the day, dental work can be expensive and to be able to give that to somebody and watch them walk away with confidence and maybe their smile back, depending on whatever they had. You know we see patients on that day that may not have had a cleaning for 15 or 20 years and to be able to do that for them for free is worth way more than the money that you would get paid for it, just the feeling that you get from that.
