PANAMA CITY, FL – Panama City Smiles, a comprehensive Panama City dental office, will host its third annual Dentistry From The Heart program on Sept. 18.
Dentistry From The Heart is a nationwide campaign that provides a free day of dentistry to uninsured or underinsured members of the community. During the event, Panama City Smiles will offer free dental care, such as cleanings, fillings and extractions.
The dental practice guarantees to treat the first 100 patients of the day.
“This is the way we give back to our community that has been so wonderful to us,” said Dr. Anish Patel, owner of Panama City Smiles. “This is also the way we thank our patients for their continued support that allows us to give dental care to those who otherwise wouldn’t get it. What is a better gift than giving someone a smile?”
Dr. Patel has given away more than $60,000 in dental services over the past two years that Panama City Smiles has hosted the Dentistry From The Heart. Local organizations and sponsors also attend to provide food and resources to Dentistry From The Heart participants. In addition to Panama City Smiles’ annual event, Dr. Patel has participated with other dental offices that also host Dentistry From The Heart.
“The event is so popular that we’ve even had patients stay overnight outside of the office just to reserve their spot, so it’s something we feel is very necessary and beneficial to this community,” Dr. Patel said.
Panama City Smiles, 1022 Harrison Ave., offers general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics for adults and children and dental implants to replace individual missing teeth or to stabilize dentures. The practice uses the latest technology to provide quality dental care to its patients. Dr. Patel uses digital X-rays, which reduce radiation exposure, and intraoral cameras to teach patients about proper oral health techniques.
As a cosmetic dentist, Dr. Patel provides durable porcelain veneers, dental crowns, KoR whitening deep bleaching and ClearCorrect, a system that uses clear aligners to straighten crooked teeth. ClearCorrect is virtually undetectable and can correct crooked teeth, gapped teeth and mild bite issues.
Dr. Patel, who grew up in England, earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Central Florida in Orlando and then his dental degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. Dr. Patel is committed to advancing his skills in dentistry and takes more than 100 hours in continuing education every year. Following dental school, he completed a three-year program on progressive orthodontics and has extensive training in cosmetic dentistry and dental implants.
Panama City Smiles is committed to serving the community and annually hosts Dentistry From The Heart, a program dedicated to providing free dental care to local residents who cannot afford dental care or do not have dental insurance.
