PANAMA CITY, FL – Dr. Anish Patel, a Panama City cosmetic dentist, will host a free day of dentistry in November for local residents who do not have access to regular dental care.
Dentistry From The Heart is a worldwide event that allows patients to have their choice of a dental cleaning, filling or extraction free of charge. Dentistry From The Heart, which began in Florida, now partners with dental offices to put on more than 300 events every year. Panama City Smiles, operated by Dr. Patel, will host its Dentistry From The Heart event on Nov. 18.
“Our staff looks forward to and prepares for this event the entire year,” Dr. Patel said. “It’s an amazing feeling to serve our community, partner with a great organization and, of course, help our local residents achieve a better smile through education and elite services.”
This is Panama City Smiles’ fourth annual Dentistry From The Heart, and the practice has given away tens of thousands of dollars in free dental care over the past three years. Last year the office treated more than 100 patients.
This year, Panama City Smiles’ Nov. 18 Dentistry From The Heart will be an all-day event, with registration running from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. No appointments are required, and the first 75 participants are guaranteed treatment. Dr. Patel said in additional to helping patients with immediate issues, the event is a chance for his staff to interact with patients who have not made their dental health a priority.
“Some of the patients who take advantage of Dentistry From The Heart haven’t been to a dentist in years, and we take pride in helping those people overcome their dental problems and adjust the way they view dentistry,” Dr. Patel said.
Panama City Smiles, 1022 Harrison Ave., offers general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry and orthodontics for adults and children. The practice uses the latest technology to provide quality dental care to its patients. Dr. Patel uses digital X-rays, which reduce radiation exposure, and intraoral cameras to teach patients about proper oral health techniques.
As a cosmetic dentist, Dr. Patel provides durable porcelain veneers, dental crowns, KoR whitening deep bleaching and ClearCorrect, a system that uses clear aligners to straighten crooked teeth. ClearCorrect is virtually undetectable and can correct crooked teeth, gapped teeth and mild bite issues.
Dr. Patel, who grew up in England, earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Central Florida in Orlando and then his dental degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. Dr. Patel is committed to advancing his skills in dentistry and takes more than 100 hours in continuing education every year. Following dental school, he completed a three-year program on progressive orthodontics and has extensive training in cosmetic dentistry and dental implants.
